On the back of a very successful time for World Communism Team, this next bit of season 55 started off great, as the team set camp in Southern Europe, and Addis Gebreselassie was able to achieve second place in Smederovo - Arandelovac (Bukulja), confirming the impression that season 55 is a very prolific one for the team of the international proletariat.
Moving up the Mediterranean cost, the team was next engaged in Monaco Nocturne, a race well fitted for a Kuumba Rusesabagina in top form, with enough hard hills to shake off the fastest sprinters but leaving the way open for a reduced bunch finish. Kuumba Rusesabagina met and exceeded the expectations, as he dominated the sprint and took the win. His second of the season, and the second ever at Division 5 level for World Communism Team. Celebrations were big for the team and staff, measuring the irony of a communist team winning in Monaco.
More on the home front, the other part of the squad was then back in Gabon, for the second time of the season. For top form Addis Gebreselassie to lead in Bongoville - Moanda. On the hilly course, the Ethiopian managed to make the right move and got second place. Only beaten by Henrik Falke of Darkwave Recordings, and coming ahead of long time rival Gifford Davey of Team Watchers. Also making history as the first ever official result in Division 4 for World Communism Team, and pushing the team into Division 3 also for the first time ever.
Back in Europe the other half of the squad was at Nibe - Løgstør where Kuumba Rusesabagina had another good showing but fell just short of another result again, with a solid fourth place result.
The same Kuumba Rusesabagina also had just recorded his second result in two WT races for his Tanzania team, as he finished third in Auckland - Hamilton (WT). Helping Tanzania to their highest scoring season in WT history.
Following all this World Communism Team was also engaged in Giro di Sicilia, but luck was not on the side of the team of the proletariat this time around, and the team could not score any points out of this Division 4 tour.
However this was again a very positive few weeks for the teams with lots of points scored and a short stint in Division 3.
